Learn how to focus and streamline your writing and editing by finding what’s funny and making it shine. This six-week workshop will explore the basics of clear writing using written comedy of different kinds, such as standup, sketch, satirical essay, and personal essay. Workshop time will be split between discussions of basics, practical work advice, analysis of sample writing, and collaborative work on participants’ own creations. Participants should leave the workshop with several new pieces of work to show for it and, we hope, a new group of writers to share ideas and collaborate with.
This six week class will meet on Saturdays from 10am-12pm and will run from March 3rd to April 7th.
