An event every week that begins at 6:00pm on Wednesday, repeating until Wednesday, February 28, 2018
This drop-in workshop is a laid-back, supportive, and welcoming space for beginning comedians. It will cover topics like getting comfortable on stage, basic joke writing, and experimenting with finding a perspective and style. During the workshop there will be an the opportunity write and perform original comedic material. Participants will be invited to perform a set at the open mic with other local comedians immediately following the workshop.
All experience levels welcome. There is no commitment, come to one week or all five. Please feel free to sign up ahead of time or just drop on in.
Kathleen McDonald is a rising comedian from Chapel Hill, NC. She has performed in the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festivals since 2015, where she’s opened for Emo Philips. She is a regular performer at Eyes Up Here Comedy, which features all female identifying comedians and improvisers in sold out shows throughout North Carolina. Her jokes center around personal experiences and struggles from light and relatable to dark and bizarre. You will soon see her North Carolina Comedy Festival in Greensboro in 2018, come say ‘Hi’ before she is way too famous for you.
