Outfluenced: An Evening of Queer Storytelling

What happens when we pull the strings and the carefully tied up pieces fall loose? What makes it hard to soften our tight grips, moving out of defensive postures? What happens when we don't, won't, or can't, and how do our lives shift when and if we finally do? Do we break free, or do we come undone, and where is the line between the two? Join us for a night of queer storytelling about what happens when the restraints come off in our personal lives and bodies, in our homes and workplaces, or in our minds, mouths, and visions.

Doors open at 7:30, Event starts at 8:00

Tickets are $8; a portion of the evening's proceeds will go to CEF: Community Empowerment Fund! Ticket link will be provided as soon as it's available!

Taking its cue from storytelling events like The Moth and The Monti, Outfluenced: An Evening of Queer Storytelling features LGBTQ+ storytellers sharing real stories from their experiences, live and without notes. From the sweetest of loves to the hardest of heartbreaks, the most stunning of victories to the biggest flops and failures, from the peaks of expansive joy to the depths of grief -- join us for stories about these, everything in between, and subtle explorations of the ways we move from one to the next.

Do you identify as somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum and want to pitch us your story? Send your 300-word pitch to and we’ll get back to you! The best stories have a clear story arc, a bit of vulnerability, and show how the storyteller changed over the course of (and possibly as a result of) the story. It might take a few emails back and forth with questions and dialogue to figure out if your story is a good fit, but if you’re patient with us, we’ll be patient with you! Never told a story before? Unsure how to put your story in order? No worries! If your story has a great concept, we’ll work with you to develop the details. And our monthly themes are a prompt, not a box. If your story is perfect but doesn't fit, pitch it anyway!
