Outfluenced: An Evening of Queer Storytelling

What's the difference between failing forward and forever fumbling? How do we define growth in our personal and professional lives, and how much are we willing to risk in its pursuit? How do we navigate growth we didn't choose, growth that shoves us harder than we want or grates on our every nerve as it's happening? How do we push towards the growth we want, or still ourselves enough to let it happen? Join us for a night of queer storytelling as we explore the ways we bloom, the people who spark our flourishing, and the adventures that inevitably accompany our attempts at growth.

Doors open at 7:30
Event starts at 8:00

Tickets are $10; a portion of the evening's proceeds will go to QORDS: Queer Oriented Radical Days of Summer -- a week-long overnight summer camp for queer and trans youth or youth of LGBTQ families, with special focus on youth in the South!

Taking its cue from storytelling events like The Moth and The Monti, Outfluenced: An Evening of Queer Storytelling features LGBTQ+ storytellers sharing real stories from their experiences, live and without notes. From the sweetest of loves to the hardest of heartbreaks, the most stunning of victories to the biggest flops and failures, from the peaks of expansive joy to the depths of grief -- join us for stories about these, everything in between, and subtle explorations of the ways we move from one to the next.

Do you identify as somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum and want to pitch us your story? Send your 300-word pitch to and we’ll get back to you! The best stories have a clear story arc, a bit of vulnerability, and show how the storyteller changed over the course of (and possibly as a result of) the story. It might take a few emails back and forth with questions and dialogue to figure out if your story is a good fit, but if you’re patient with us, we’ll be patient with you! Never told a story before? Unsure how to put your story in order? No worries! If your story has a great concept, we’ll work with you to develop the details. And our monthly themes are a prompt, not a box. If your story is perfect but doesn't fit, pitch it anyway!
